The TUNRA Clean Coal Froth Depth Detector (FDD)
has been designed to provide flotation plant operators an
accurate indication of where the froth/liquid interface is
within their cells, and as a result, the froth bed depth. Froth
depth is a key control parameter for any flotation unit
operation.
The FDD takes away the inaccuracies
inherent with the differential pressure method of monitoring
froth depth by using a float specifically designed for operation
within liquids with varying densities. It is ideally
suited for highly aerated liquids and as the aeration increases,
the density of the liquid decreases and normal cylindrical or
ball shaped floats will sink and operate at a different level.
The TUNRA FDD float has a precisely designed and manufactured
shape that greatly reduces the movement created by such density
changes.
The unit is made from 316 stainless steel,
and provides the operating system with a 4-20 mA signal from a
10 to 30 VDC source. No moving parts are immersed in the froth
or liquid, meaning jams or blockages from solids build up are
prevented. A physical scale on the FDD can be easily read whilst
viewing the unit, as well as a signal being sent to the control
room.
The FDD can be adjusted for any depths
required, and can be custom fitted to any flotation cell.
